On Feb 7th, 2009, at the end of a week when numerous events had been cancelled due to the worst winter weather for 18 years, the branch held a Stedman Triples training afternoon at Winchcombe ably led by Steve Coleman and attended by 24 people. Photo opportunities included Steve in a bright red fleece and a splendid array of iced cakes.
There was a first plain course, a first touch (only going up to 5ths place and back), a first touch with singles and a first touch calling odd bobs - on the treble call yourself out and in quick twice with a single bob in 6-7 down the first time and in 6-7 up the second time, repeat. In addition, everyone was able to consolidate their Stedman ringing by trying different bells with moral support if necessary.
We are very grateful to Steve and Sue and those who came to help and to the Winchcombe band for providing tea and delicious cakes.
